Sunrisers Hyderabad Innings – 235/4 in 20 Overs
Source: Sunrisers Hyderabad came out with aggressive intent from the start. The PBKS bowlers never got into any kind of rhythm with openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head attacking them from the very first over. Hyderabad as expected, dominated the powerplay hitting regular boundaries and maintaining a very high run rate.
Abhishek Sharma with the bat picked up a quick 35 runs in just 13 balls, with two fours and four sixes. Travis Head kept going and made 38 off just 19 balls. SRH got the start they needed from their opening pair.
Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen absolutely controlled the innings once the openers were gone. Ishan Kishan then played a sensible innings of 55 runs in 32 balls. Made good use of the strike rotation, and also punished the odd loose one.
The biggest punishment of these on the bowling was given by Heinrich Klaasen, who played a banging inning in IPL 2026. Superb timing and hitting from Klaasen saw him post 69 runs from just 43 balls. He broke crucial boundaries in the middle overs and propelled SRH over the 230-run benchmark.
The final touches were added by Nitish Kumar Reddy, who scored 29 not out off only 13 deliveries.

Punjab Kings Chase – 202/7 in 20 Overs
Punjab Kings struggled from the front in their pursuit of a mammoth 236 run target. The batting order was then put under pressure after both Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh were dismissed early.
You spoke to me in October and then we could not get runs from Captain Shreyas Iyer as well. There was a time when it looked like Punjab Kings will be decimated after SRH were all over them.
But, a brilliant innings from young batter Cooper Connolly kept Punjab Kings in the game. Connolly scored splendidly and in doing that he played very fearless cricket. He made 107 runs off 59 balls and hit 7 fours and eight sixes.
Marcus Stoinis got his good fettle in the middle and contributed with 29 runs off 14 balls which along with 25 runs from Suryansh Shedge helped RCB reach a respectable total. However, the required run rate kept climbing and Punjab Kings ended with 202/7.
Thus, despite PBKS losing that match, Cooper Connolly’s innings turned out to be one of the main talking points of the match.
