Kane Williamson has announced his retirement from international cricket during New Zealand’s current tour of England, saying that though he felt the moment was right for him to move on. Williamson, who is moving on after serving New Zealand’s national side for over 16 years, said he accepted your choice and that it was the right time to end an incredible International career.
Retirement, according to the former New Zealand captain, was not something that happened overnight. Although Williamson is stepping away from the international game, he indicated that he still intends to remain close to cricket. But for the time being, his focus had simply been on spending more time with family and living life beyond the international fixture calendar.
